Craft Fair - 24 Nov 2007
Craft Fair - 24 Nov 2007
November 24th was a landmark in the history of the club - we participated in our first craft fair/exhibition. This was held at the Heelis Centre which is the headquarters of the National Trust in Swindon. Would we have enough stock? Would we sell anything? At the end of the fair, the answer was a resounding "Yes" on both counts. Many members of the club chipped in, not only providing stock to display/sell but also turning up on the day to help out. Thanks to everyone involved - the day was a great success, not only financially (over £320 worth of stock was sold), but also from the point of view of getting together and sharing what turned out to be a really fun day. Thanks are due, in particular, to Clive Alabaster who took on the role of organising the whole thing. Here are a few photos of the event.

Here are a few general shots of the stall. It was too long to get all into one picture without a wide-angle lens - we even had to pinch a couple of the tables from the cafe to get all our stock on. |

Here's an interesting little trio from Ian Dudley. The bell on the left contains a turned wooden clapper (the ball inside which swings and makes the noise). In the middle we have a skeleton clock and on the right a vase for dried flowers. |

. . . on the left we have an ash tea-light holder courtesy of Joe Kerrawn with a collection of pens on the right. |

. . . and finally some earrings from Brian King-Fisher and Ron Headon's ornamental birdhouse Christmas tree decorations. |
